The Town of Leamington is located along the shores of Lake Erie. Known as the tomato capital and most famous for their farming and agriculture, Downtown Leamington is a bustling city centre. Like it's neighbour to the east Kingsville, Leamington is situated along the water and while the township ends as far north as County Road 8 much of the area is farm and agricultural, greenhouses and fields. The Downtown Leamington core sits along Lake Erie with ample green space, modern amenities, and simply stunning views views. To get into Leamington from the east you can take the newly widened Highway 3 into the city centre using Erie Street North. From there main streets like Oak Street East and Talbot Street East is where many of the local businesses are located plus the big brand amenities you would expect such as FreshCo, Domino’s, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, McDonalds, the LCBO, and the Beer Store. Leamington is home to many small and locally owned shops and businesses as well. The big agriculture businesses such as Nature Fresh Farms, Great Lakes Greenhouses, and DiCocco Farms are major economy drivers for the area along with being some of the top employers in the area. Them you have small and local businesses like Oma’s Kitchen, Tacos Tony, Capri Pizza, Oven 360, Jose’s Bar and Grill, Joey’s Seafood, Mezza, TJ’s Bar and Grill that locals love.

Leamington is the proud home of a Canadian National Park. Point Pelee National Park, featuring Canada’s Most Southern Point, is located in Leamington. The National Park offers a beach, trails for hiking, walking, and biking, a visitor centre, and even host special night time events throughout the summer months. Point Pelee makes for an amazing summer day trip. 

While not national parks, the area has a number of parks that offer jungle gyms, activities for kids, and open areas for sports and games. William Simpson Park, Wilhelm Park, Pearl Park, Selkirk Park, Dieppe Park, Chestnut Park, Hyatt Park, Carolina Woods Park, and Lloyd Wilkinson Park are just some of the many, many green spaces and parks in the area. If you are a fan of hiking, walking, or looking for trails, Leamington is home to the Hillman Marsh Conservation Area and the Kopegaron Woods Conservation Area, two amazing places places to visit for these activities and to take in the nature and beautiful views. Seacliff Park is a gorgeous trail system leading to the water that is also home to a community amphitheater. Also along the waterfront is the beautiful Waterfront Promenade and Rich Atkin Park. an amazing river walk and green space area that connects to the Leamington Marina. Finally, Leamington is the main port of call for the Pelee Islander II, the ferry to get over to Pelee Island for either a day trip or a weekend getaway for cottage owners and renters. Pelee Island Winery operates a vineyard and winery directly on the island, a favourite option for visitors to the island. 


Leamington, ON Schools

Leamington provides a broad range of educational and schooling options for residents. The English Catholic School Board, the English Public School Board have both elementary and secondary schools to serve the residents.
