Grey - Lockdown: What It Means For Real Estate

Today the provincial government announced that the areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit will be entering the Grey-Lockdown stage of the provinces COVID-19 framework. This means much of the region will be shut down with only essential businesses staying open, including real estate.

For us here at Jump Realty this does not change a lot. Our offices will continue to be closed to the public. All of our office's access will be restricted to essential staff only. All agents are urged to work remotely as much as possible and follow all health guidelines. Visitor access will only be permitted by appointment only and when all other meeting options have been exhausted. All staff will continue to self-monitor for symptoms at all times and are barred from the office should they exhibit any signs of the virus. All people entering the building will continue to be required to fill out a self-assessment and sign in for contact tracing. Cleaning protocols will remain in place and be enhanced to ensure the safety of all in the office.

In regard to the processes out in the community, all open houses have been banned by RECO. While showings can still occur they must be by appointment only. Our agents are required to follow all guidelines set out by the government and real estate governing bodies like OREA and CREA. This means ensuring all of the proper paperwork is filled out and all people entering a home have completed a self-assessment. All Jump agents and their clients are required to wear masks at all times in showings and touching in the home is to be kept to an absolute minimum with no free wandering. Should a showing be required we will do everything we can to ensure the safety of everyone.

Above all, we here at Jump Realty ask everyone to follow all health and safety guidelines as set out by local, provincial, and federal governments. By sticking together and showing kindness and compassion we can navigate this as a community. Should you require any assistance please feel free to contact us. While our offices are closed, our agents are all over the region and happy to help.
