It is home to the Ciociaro Club of Windsor, Southwestern Ontario's largest Italian club. The club is located on 71 acres (290,000 m2) of ground bounded by North Talbot Road and Oldcastle Road, with many baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and a one-kilometer cycle track around it. The Oldcastle wrestling history
From 1995 through 2005, the neighborhood was known for hosting Border City Wrestling Can-Am Tag Team Championship events, which included renowned wrestlers such as Tommy Dreamer, Brooklyn Brawler, Johnny Swinger, Cyrus, and Terry Taylor. The Ciociaro Club on Talbot Road hosted wrestling contests that drew up to 1,000 spectators.

One of the first neighborhoods with optical fiber cable
MNSi Telecom began providing optical fiber cable Internet service to Walkerville in 2012, with enhancements scheduled to be completed by 2020. The Walkerville renovation is part of a larger $35 million improvement plan. The service is now offered in Walkerville, Oldcastle, and East Windsor as of 2016.
