Virtual Open Houses

 

As we discussed in a previous post, COVID-19 has changed how we do business. It is of the utmost importance to us that our buyers or sellers are protected and safe while working together. We discussed the steps we have taken in order to ensure that. 

 

One of the key aspects of buying or selling is having or attending an open house. Unfortunately, gatherings such as these can also be a spreader of COVID-19. While they have not been stopped by any government provincial or federal, they are strongly discouraged by CREA, OREA, and internally here at Jump Realty for the safety of our agents, clients, and community as a whole. 

 

Instead, we have urged our sellers to host virtual open houses and our buyers to attend other virtual open houses if they are capable. As a seller this means no strangers entering your home and as a buyer not entering someone else’s home with other people, avoiding possible exposure to the virus in both cases. 

 

Simply a virtual open house means one of our agents will advertise in advance, to both other agents and to the public often on their social media channels, a time when they will virtually show the home. The agent does this by going live on either Facebook or Instagram and essentially giving a full tour of the home as well as staying online to answer any questions or show certain parts of the house in greater depth if requested. Viewers are free to ask questions and interact directly with the agent. If you want a more private feel, ask our agent if they can set-up a private virtual open house where you can be more specific and get more in-depth about the home. 

 

With fall here and winter just behind it, our local medical experts warn that we must remain vigilant in the fight against COVID-19.
