School Round-Up: LaSalle Area

In the last two decades the Town of LaSalle has boomed from a rural area to a hustling and bustling township with two different business cores and residential homes between. Old LaSalle is located mainly off of Front Road and is home to a variety of businesses as well as residential homes as you move inland as the road runs along the waterfront of Lake Erie. The newer part of LaSalle is located around the continually developing and busy Malden Road. Home to the Town of LaSalle Civic Centre as well as a variety of businesses from restaurants to grocery stores. It’s become a popular place for families looking to upsize and provides excellent schooling options.

The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has both elementary and secondary schools in LaSalle:

Holy Cross Catholic Elementary School
- Located just off Ontario Highway 3 and the Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway and behind the Windsor Crossings Outlet Mall, it is one of the newer Catholic schools in the area.
Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School
- Located in the heart of LaSalle off of Front Road on Kenwood Drive, also has Sacred Heart Parish accompanying it.
St. Joseph Elementary School
- On the edge of LaSalle in the River Canard area, St. Joseph is located on County Road 8 and also has an accompanying parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church.
St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic High School
- Located down County Road 8 from St. Joseph elementary is the catholic high school that serves the above elementary schools.

The Greater Essex County District School Board, the public for our area also has a number of schools in LaSalle:

Sandwich West Public School
- Located on just off of Todd Lane on Elmdale Road it is nestled in behind a growing residential and business area of LaSalle near Malden Road.
LaSalle Public School
- Back to old LaSalle, LaSalle Public school is down the street from Sacred Heart elementary school and is located on Sacred Heart Drive off of Front Road and nestled right behind Essex Golf and Country Club
Prince Andrew Public School
- Located on Kelly Road just off of Malden Road near Martin Lane, is this soon to be replaced elementary school.
Legacy Oak Trail Public School
- The replacement school for the aforementioned Prince Andrew, this school is slated to open in September of 2021 and is located off the Laurier Parkway just behind the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex.
Sandwich Secondary School
- At the corner of Malden Road and Laurier Parkway is the secondary school for the GECDSB elementary schools in LaSalle.

The French Catholic school board also has one school in LaSalle:

Elementary School Catholic Monseigneur-Augustin-Caron
- Located at the end of Matchette Road where it meets Martin Lane, it serves LaSalle as the only full French school in the area.
