The Town of Amherstburg is a quiet but growing community located on the shores of Lake Erie. Head inland from the water and you’ll find farm and agricultural land. Along the water and just before you hit the farm you’ll find neighbourhoods mixed with older homes as well as new subdivisions in the growing Kingsbridge area. It has become a popular place for house hunters because homes have been a bit more affordable for those looking to buy. Many went looking for houses for sale in Amherstburg. The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has just one elementary school in Amherstburg, with St. Thomas of Villanonva serving as the area secondary school.

Stella Maris Catholic Elementary School
- Located just off of County Road 20, or Front Road, on WIlliam Street, as mentioned it is the only English Catholic school in Amherstburg.

The Greater Essex County District School Board, the public for our area, has multiple elementary and secondary schools in Amherstburg.

Amherstburg Public School
- Located in the heart of town, it can be found on Hamilton Drive, just off of Victoria Street South and South of Alma Street.
Malden Central Public School
- Head towards the outskirts of the Amherstburg boundaries and you will find this school located on County Road 20 just near Knapps Island.
Anderdon Public School
- Head North to County Road 10, or Middle Side Road, and located between Pointe West Golf Club and Fox Glen Golf Club is Anderson Public School.
General Amherst Public School
- The first secondary school in Amherstburg is General Amherst, located on Sandwich Street South, just off of Fort and next to Bill Wigle Park and Austin “Toddy” Jones Park in the heart of the town.
Western Secondary School
- On County Road 8, North Townline Road, is where you’ll find the other Amherstburg area secondary school in the North part of the town.

The French Catholic school board also has one school in Amherstburg:

École élémentaire catholique Saint-Jean-Baptiste
- Located on Fryer Street, just off of Simcoe Street, and near the Libro Centre Arena, this is the only full French school in the area.
