Community Spotlight: Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market To Return

Switching gears a bit from the buying and selling in the Windsor real estate market to some exciting news about the return of a great annual event in our community. Put those houses for sale in Windsor searches on hold for an afternoon and take a break from looking for Windsor homes and support local this upcoming year.

Returning on April 2nd, 2022 and running to December 10th, 2022 the Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market is excited to return. This year will mark the 7th year for the market in Downtown Windsor at Pelissier Street and Maiden Lane West. Steve Green the General Manager of the DWFM says the community support is outstanding for the markets.

“There’s been a growing movement to buy local and to seek out quality produce from our very own backyards. These rain-or-shine events are always so highly anticipated at the beginning of the spring and summer seasons, and we’re so excited to be able to provide a space for vendors and entrepreneurs to have nearly a year-round space to work, with residents and visitors of the core having access to locally grown, farm fresh products and artisanal goods not readily available at grocery stores.” (windsorite.ca)

The market organizers are making sure this event is safe for everyone to attend with the ongoing pandemic. Working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit they will ensure all protocols are followed and all steps needed to keep everyone safe are taken.
