Spring Cleaning Checklist: Outside Edition!

We spoke in a previous blog post about getting your home all spruced up this spring. Remember spring cleaning is not just for those in the Windsor real estate market. You don’t have to be searching for houses for sale in Windsor or considering adding your own property to the list of Windsor homes for sale to spring clean. Moving or not it’s a chance to freshen up, spruce up, and get your home for the spring and summer. This time we'll give you tips and tricks for getting the outside of your home all set for the sunny and warm days ahead.

An Exterior Cleaning
- Clean up your exterior by washing your front door, garage door, and windows of all the dirt, dust, salt residue, and other things that have collected over the winter months. Don’t forget to give any entryways a good sweeping as well. Finally, everyone’s favourite task, cleaning the gutters. Avoid floods by making sure you have good drainage.
Prep Outdoor Items
- Patio season is here! Get out your patio furniture and give them a rinse to wash away dust and debris from winter storage. Give your BBQ a rinse as well and a quick clean on the grill and finally fill up the propane and maybe a spare tank or two to be safe and have on hand. Get the umbrella up, a drink in your hand and some food on the grill, it's patio time!
Garden Clean-Up
- Clean up your garden beds or other landscaping around your home. Leaf blowers are great especially if they have a mulching function to make quick work of fallen leaves from last fall and winter. Once clean it’s a blank canvas. You can fill it with rock, mulch, wood chips, flowers, and more to decorate and spruce up the outside of your home. Take this opportunity to make sure if you have anything draining into the gardens that they are sloped and wont flood.

There you have it, your front and back yards are clean, tidy, and ready to enjoy as the wam weather rolls in and we enjoy the outdoors once again so fire up that clean grill, grab a drink and a seat in your clean patio chairs, and take a look at all that hard work that paid off.
