On April 25th, the football world will descend on Detroit, Michigan for the 2024 NFL Draft. Starting on Thursday night and running until April 27th, the annual NFL Draft will welcome all 32 teams and their fans to the area as the nation's best college football players hear their name called and enter the NFL. The 2024 NFL Draft Experience will take place at Hart Plaza and will be home to games, exhibits, experiences, live entertainment and more over the 3 days. The Draft Experience is a free event for all to enjoy. Draft Day in the D will be hosted at a variety of parks surrounding the the Draft Experience and the Draft Theater. Also a free event, there will be local vendors, entertainment, and more. The Draft Theater where the selections will be made is being constructed and will be at Campus Martius. So what is in store for us on the Canadian side of the Detroit River? Together the NFL, the City of Windsor, and Tourism Windsor-Essex Pelee Island are hosting the Windsor NFL Draft Party. Located on the front lawn of City Hall, the event takes place on April 27th from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. There will be a draft viewing right on the big screen. There will be the NFL Canada Fan Experience that will include games, activities, and more. There will also be appearances from former NFL players with Luke Willson, Bret Romberg, Dakoda Shepley and O.J. Atogwe scheduled to be in attendance. Finally, there will be a Football Skills & Coaching Clinic for kids thorughout the day.
That's not all however, the Downtown Windsor BIA is hosting a Downtown Block Party on April 27th from 6:00pm to 11:00pm. It will see Ouellette Avenue between Park Street and University Avenue closed and patios extended into the street along with draft celebrations and live music.
