This Friday August 9th is the annual Ouellette Car Cruise and this year the Downtown Windsor BIA is also featuring a block party as part of the celebrations.
Windsor is Canada's automotive capital and the the Ouellette Car Cruise aims to bring together car enthusiasts and the whole community to celebrate of our deep automotive roots here in Windsor.
This cruisers will begin gathering at Riverfront Festival Plaza at 1 PM in the heart of Downtown Windsor. From 1:00pm to 6:00pm people are invited to head down to our riverfront and walk around and see the variety of vintage, classic, custom, collector and special interest cars, and meet their owners. The DWBIA will also have a variety of vendors on site to check out. Come 6:00pm the engines are fired up and the Car Cruise takes places until 9:00pm. The cruise will travel up Ouellette Avenue to Tecumseh Road East and from Riverside Drive to Pillette Road.
The Ouellette Car Cruise precedes the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, Michigan and attracts significant participation and on-site spectator attendance and helps to introduce the community and event attendees to a myriad of classic, vintage and custom vehicles of the past.

In conjunction with the car cruise the Downtown Windsor BIA is hosting the Car Cruise Block party from 4:00pm-11:00pm. Chatham Street West between Ouellette & Ferry along with Pelissier Street West between University & Chatham will be closed off to traffic and will come alive with a display of classic cars, modern marvels, live music, and vibrant patios.
