Not one, but two much needed infrastructure projects are on track for completeion in LaSalle in the coming months to upgrade one of the busier roads in the town. Starting on Monday, March 24, there will be road closures and detours as constructions starts in the Turkey Creek Bridge rehabilitation project and along with improvements at the Matchett Road and Sprucewood Avenue intersection.
The Town of LaSalle estimates that the Turkey Creek Bridge will be closed for approximately two months with the work expected to be completed before June 2025. Work has already been underway with lane reductions over the bridge, but the bridge will now completely close to complete the project.
The long awaited improvements to the Matchett Road and Sprucewood Avenue intersection will be the other major upgrade to LaSalle. Prep work has already begun at this site as well with utility locates complete. Improvements at this very busy intersection include the installation of new traffic signals, road improvements, including a left-turn lane, and sidewalks. The intersection will be closed for one month and aim to be complete early Spring 2025.
There are two detours set-up by the Town of LaSalle for the duration of construction. If you are coming from LaSalle, or south of Turkey Creek Bridge, you can use Laurier Drive to get to Malden Road or Front Road. If you are coming from Windsor, or north of the Matchett Road and Sprucewood Avenue intersection, you will be able to use Armanda Street to get to Malden Road or use Ojibway Parkway via Broadway Street.
