Construction continues on upgrades and changes to Howard Avenue and Division Road with the City of Windsor announcing Phase 2 of the project gets underway April 9th.
The city expects construction in the area to last until the end of October with Phase 2 bringing some big changes to the area including the closure of the railway crossing between Division and South Cameron. This is part of the redesigned intersection for Howard that was considered one of the worst in Windsor. You can find the full update from the city below, including a diagram of what the area will look like when the project is complete.
"There will be lane reductions on Howard Avenue and Division Road between the Roundhouse Centre/Devonshire Mall intersection and the Union Square Plaza intersection beginning Wednesday, April 9, 2025, until approximately Friday, October 31, 2025. Stage 2 of the project includes storm sewer improvements, road reconstruction and widening, construction of a new railway grade crossing on Sydney Avenue, streetlighting and traffic light improvements, sidewalk and multi-use trail. The railway crossing on Howard Avenue between Division Road and South Cameron Boulevard will be permanently closed after Monday, April 14, 2025." (City of Windsor, 2025)
