The annual fireworks over the Detroit River mark the official start to summer for Windsor-Essex. The annual show draws in huge crowds of spectators to watch the sky's over Downtown Windsor and Downtown Detroit light up with fireworks and kick-off the summer.
This year the Ford Fireworks will be held on Monday June 23, 2025 with the show scheduled to begin at 10:06 pm. Downtown Windsor will also feature live entertainment, food vendors, and activities for the whole family.
You'll want to get downtown early to get the best seats and beat the road closures and find some good parking if you choose to drive. Keep an eye out as we get closer to the event to learn about street closures for the event as Ouellette typically closes and of course Riverside Drive West will be closed. Other downtown streets such as Goyeau and McDougall tend to have closures or restrictions for the event along with other North/South running streets as they approach the waterfront.
If you do not want to battle the traffic, you can take a shuttle to the event. Zehrs and Transit Windsor have partnered for the 15th consecutive year to offer free shuttle services to and from the annual fireworks. You can grab a complimentary direct shuttle from Devonshire Mall to a drop-off location near City Hall. Shuttles start at approximately 6:00 p.m. and run until 9:30 p.m. Return shuttles will depart immediately following the fireworks, running until approximately 12:15 a.m. from a designated pick-up point. In addition, regular Transit Windsor bus service will be free across the community beginning at 6:00pm, making it easier than ever for residents to join in the celebration.
