Summertime means the kids are out of school and on summer vacation. One of those things is a summer vacation! Instead of looking for Windsor homes for sale they are looking for vacation spots and hotels to book. As you head out to enjoy the summer, don’t forget to protect and prepare your home. Following up on a previous post about protecting your home on vacation, here are some more things you can do to protect your home this summer while away.

Turn off all your electronic appliances
Get rid of perishable food and empty the trash
Arrange for mail and newspapers to be picked up
Set-up grass cutting and plant watering
Leave vacation info with a trusted neighbour, friend, family
Set inside lights on timers
Unplug items susceptible to power surges
Advise alarm company you are away
Store valuable in safe or safety deposit box
Never leave a “hidden key” outside the home
